Memorable Occasions

There have been many memorable occasions during the last 8 years:-

  1. Firstly must be the great hospitality we have received:-

    1. In the many villages in which we have stayed. It has been a great privilege to live alongside Papua New Guineans in the village - eating, sleeping and storying.
    2. From so many people in Australia and New Zealand while we have been carrying out our deputation work.

  2. Daily devotions with our CHW students, and to observe their spiritual growth. Also the many very uplifting services we have enjoyed in villages around PNG.

  3. Our walk to Ikara in 1997, which involved wading across the river 35 times and crossing a very precarious mountain ridge.

  4. Our arrival at the desolate Cape Gloucester airstrip in 1997, with no one to meet us! no vehicles! no people! only volcanic ash!

  5. Our sea journey from Wanigela to Oro Bay in 2003, when our operator ran out of fuel way out at sea, and it took us 4 hours to paddle into land using clay pots, kettle lids and washing up bowls

  6. The sad occasion of the memorial service to Melanesian Brother Robin Lindsey.

  7. Magnificent Installation ceremonies for Bp Michael Hough and Bp Roger Jupp.

  8. Graduation Ceremonies for our CHW and GN students. Particularly seeing the number of CHW graduates grow each year.
