About the National Health SecretaryUlch Tapia will replace Peter as National Health Secretary of the Anglican Health Service. He has worked very closely with us during the last 4 years, travelling with us on the MV Mamose when we transferred from Lae to Popondetta in October 2000.Ulch came to St Margaret’s CHW School as acting Principal, and later appointed Principal, at a time when it was facing a major crisis due to serious management problems. We worked together to put the school on its feet, since when it has grown from strength to strength. In 1997 when we arrived in PNG, the school was struggling with 15 students. In line with our Development Programme, we now have 53 students and an excellent academic standard. This is a landmark in the development of AHS, as Ulch will be the first Papua New Guinean to hold the post of National Health Secretary. |
